While flipping through her boyfriend Aaron’s new O.A.R.S. catalog one day, Erin landed on the Fiji trip page. “Let’s go here! It looks amazing!” Although Fiji was not in the budget at that time, the two adventurers settled on the Yellowstone & Grand Teton Explorer for their summer vacation. Why not take a trip to Wyoming and visit two national parks? Perfect. Fiji could wait until another time.

During a hike to Bearpaw Bay and Trapper Lake the group crested a rise and was witness to a breathtaking view before them, which nearly brought tears to Erin’s eyes. Someone called, “Hey, look at this dead crow!”  “Stop the celestial harp music,” she thought, “There goes my transcendent moment touched by the hand of God. I guess nature will be nature.”

Clean water is not only central to life on this planet but important to many who choose to play in it. On the eve of the 19th annual World Water Day, our friends at Teva® will launch the Teva World Water Day Challenge asking participants to give up water in one simple area of their life for the day. From no showers, laundry and teeth brushing to waterless culinary creativity, the day promises to be one full of stories and building awareness.

“Teva has a long standing passion for clean water, the source of both life and our recreation,” says Will Pennartz, Teva Lifestyle Marketing Manager. “It is our responsibility to help in the protection of these playgrounds for future generations. Through the World Water Day challenge we hope we can inspire a larger community to join us as we raise awareness for clean water.”

I know when I need to escape.  Get away.  Just go. There’s a feeling I get that can only be described as antsy with life.  It’s a feeling that I can’t ignore because it builds and builds until I finally go somewhere, anywhere.  More often than not it’s a quick escape to the woods for a weekend of camping.  But sometimes that feeling is a sign that I need to pull the trigger on something bigger, where I have to (no, scratch that, need to) hop on a plane and leave for some place new.  

I’m making it seem like I’m the most spontaneous person in the world and I’m always jetting off somewhere, I’m not.  In fact, I’m a free spirit locked down by an inner-planner. This means I’ve got excuses just like everyone else.  “I really want to go, but…”  Insert long list of excuses here, right?  I can’t take that much time off of work.  It’s too expensive.  What are we going to do with the cats, dogs, kids, etc.?
