Add a Hike in Yosemite to Your Merced or Tuolumne River Rafting Trip

May 28, 2008.

The ‘Trip Development Team’ held an off-site meeting in Yosemite Valley yesterday. We were exploring options for new additions to our Merced River and Tuolumne River rafting trips and met with John and Zeb of Yexplore Yosemite Adventures.

Yexplore offers custom tours in Yosemite National Park for individuals, families and groups of all ages and experience levels. (Sound familiar?) Like O.A.R.S., they too provide educational services that follow Leave No Trace principles.

It was an exciting day on a little known trail to “Inspiration Point” – with loads of dramatic clouds, heavy rains, hail, and cheery wildflowers. The group stopped for a gourmet spread at Inspiration Point. After a very soggy return down the trail, we capped off the trip with a glimpse of a mama bear with her several-day-old cub on the way out of the park. Stay tuned for new California whitewater rafting trip additions in 2009.
Here’s the mama… the cub was too fast for me!

(For the record… Tioga Pass has re-opened!)
