Green Travel Tips for the Holidays

December 4, 2007.
A friend told me Thanksgiving is now considered the half-time of the holiday season.  It makes sense doesn’t it?  Holiday decorations began appearing in stores before Halloween this year. Here are just a few green travel tips for the Holiday Season… Use electronic, not paper, tickets when booking transportation or events.  Electronic tickets generate less waste and cost less to replace. Ask about alternative fuel vehicles when renting a car. If you are staying in a hotel, ask to use their electronic checkout program to reduce paper waste.  Let the staff know it is not necessary to change your sheets and towels every day.  When possible, use the hotel’s transportation or share a taxi with another hotel guest when traveling to a well-known destination
