8 reasons to stop for a visit
Heading through Salt Lake City soon? Don’t just pass by this scenic city. If you have an hour or more, here are some of the best ways to experience the city.
1.) Feast on local fare at the downtown Farmer’s Market in Historic Pioneer Park (June thru October).
2.) Wander around The Avenues, an artsy neighborhood on Salt Lake’s northern side of town.
3.) Go for a bobsled ride. A short drive outside of Salt Lake City, thrill seekers can catch a 70mph ride of a lifetime on Olympic Park’s Comet Bobsled ($60). While you’re there, also check out the “Quick Silver” Alpine Slide.
4.) Find the ChowTruck. Winner of Salt Lake’s 2011 Dining Awards, food truck fans will score top-notch Asian cuisine for $10 or less.
5.) Relax at Red Butte Garden, the city’s scenic outdoor arboretum. They frequently host events, including the Summer Concert Series that features well-known bands and artists.
6.) Shop at Trolley Square. Registered as a State Historic Site, even non-shoppers will enjoy the Old West vibe and history of this unique shopping and entertainment district.
7.) Treat yourself to dinner at one of Salt Lake City’s culinary hot spots, The Metropolitan. Featuring locally produced, seasonal ingredients in a hip atmosphere. And yes, you can have a

8.) Stay at Hotel Monaco. Located in the heart of downtown (15 W 200 S.), this classy boutique hotel and landmark will take you back in time as you rest up for big adventures ahead.
