My First Time Rafting
October 20, 2011.

“When I get back home, I can’t wait to book my next rafting trip,” Tracey told me. This was her first rafting and camping trip, and despite being a busy professional, hyper-connected to technology, and separated from her business, her experience on the incredible Rogue River in Oregon was amazing enough to inspire her to do it all over again. After five days and four nights of rugged luxury rafting with O.A.R.S., she changed from an apprehensive first-time rafter, to a wilderness enthusiast.
I completely understood her enthusiasm. This was my first rafting trip, too. I loved the idea of spending more time in the mountains, but with two small children at home and a fear of adrenaline-rushing experiences; I put off the idea as too risky and hoped to do it “someday.”

Kate Wollney Interview, Oregon
July 14, 2010.
Our area manager in southern Oregon, Kate Wollney, also known as, ‘Queen of the Rogue,’ sits down with us to answer a few questions about herself and why she’s chosen to work for O.A.R.S. Over the past 18 years, Wollney has also guided in California, the Grand Canyon and Idaho. She is from Eugene, Oregon but currently resides in Driggs, Idaho during the winter months. Her favorite food is flourless chocolate cake, she loves to ski and enjoys listening to rapids more than any other sound or musical beat. Oh, and her fleece skirts are a must-have for any cold-weather river rat!

10 Trips Later and Still the BEST!
July 14, 2010.
Region: Oregon
Submitted By: Carol Kurtz
Eleven long time friends, five guides, and two new families, on the Rogue for four days…..how was it? The BEST trip ever! I’ve traveled with O.A.R.S. on over ten trips and they just keep getting better and better! The attention to detail is unsurpassed, want great customer service? Nothing beats an O.A.R.S. trips. There are five star hotels who teach customer service, but O.A.R.S. has them beat! If ‘five star’ awards were given for adventure travel O.A.R.S. would be awarded the highest honor year and year. This particular Rogue River trip combined some long time friends, with new folks and five guides. A great opportunity to meet new people, share an incredible river experience and create perfect memories. I continually refer to O.A.R.S. as ‘camping with no effort’. Waking up in the morning to fresh coffee brewing, fruit, juice and cereal all ready for you is such a treat. But it doesn’t stop there, next thing you know the eggs benedict are cooking and you’re in heaven! It’s truly amazing the gourmet meals the guides whip up after unloading our stuff, setting up camp, entertaining the kids and rowing the river all day. The guides deserve the credit for a great trip! We’re ready to it again in a heartbeat! Thank you for O.A.R.S. for giving us an opportunity to experience the outdoors like no other!

O.A.R.S. (Outdoor Adventure River Specialists) has been guiding guests down the Wild & Scenic Rogue River since 1969, making the company one of the most established whitewater rafting outfitters in Oregon.
Recognized in 2008 & 2009 as “The Best River & Sea Outfitter on Earth” by National Geographic Adventure, the company offers a variety of ways to experience the Oregon wilderness: by raft, dory or inflatable kayak, or hiking along the Rogue River with raft support.
Although O.A.R.S. is based in Northern California, the company has contributed to Oregon’s economy and tax base for four decades with seasonal operations on the Rogue and the Owyhee rivers.
